The Most Sacred Shrine In Japan : Ise Jingu
This shrine sure deserves a visit for being regarded as the most holy one among thousands of shrines existing in Japan.

The existence of this shrine is more than 2000 years according to the legend. It is situated in the city of Ise, Mie prefecture, Japan, and it is officially known as Jingu shrine. In addition, it consists of a large number of Shinto shrines centered between the two main ones.
Two Main Shrines Are "Naiku" And "Geku"

Naiku is dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu-Omikami, and Geku is dedicated to the goddess Toyouke-Omikami.
Amaterasu-Omikami is a sun god and Toyouke-Omikami is a agriculture and industry god. Amaterasu-Omikami is also a guardian god of Imperial House.
Therefore the connection with the Imperial House is strong, and it is customary for the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to visit at the beginning of the year even today.
